Caramelized Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • Fresh arugula leaves
  • Balsamic glaze (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, allow it to heat in the oven.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the pear slices and brown sugar. Cook until pears are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  4. Brush the dough with olive oil. Evenly distribute the caramelized pears on top.
  5. Sprinkle the gorgonzola cheese and walnuts over the pears.
