Is there an app that tracks which places I've explored?
Map Explorer records routes when you choose to start tracking and turns the areas you cover into a personal exploration map.
Does Map Explorer use a fog-of-war map?
Yes. Map Explorer presents your exploration progress in a fog-of-war-style map, so the areas you have covered become part of your map history.
Can Map Explorer track walking, driving, and hiking?
You can start route tracking for a walk, drive, or hike, then stop it when you are finished. Location and movement information are used to record the route and exploration progress.
Can I save interesting locations?
Yes. Save places as bookmarks, organize them into categories, and add supported media when you create a bookmark.
Does Map Explorer work offline?
Routes, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device, but Map Explorer does not advertise fully offline base maps. Map availability can depend on the map provider and your connection.
How does Map Explorer handle my location privacy?
Map Explorer does not require an account. Routes, bookmarks, media, and settings stay on your device unless you choose to export them, and personal map data is not uploaded to Cygnus X.
