Apostate The Feathered Serpent

5/10

My review

Overall there were some interesting flavors, but the draw was not very good, which really diminished the enjoyment of the cigar. Someone else I was with was smoking the same cigar and had the same draw issues. So this doesn't seem to be just one bad rolled cigar. Seems like there's just not good quality rolling at this place. Or at least on this line.

Additional notes

**Apostate The Feathered Serpent Cigar Review**

**Background:**
Apostate Cigars is renowned for crafting unique blends that pay homage to cultural and historical motifs, and “The Feathered Serpent” is no exception. This cigar draws inspiration from mythological elements, promising a smoking experience that's both intriguing and rich with symbolic influence. The Apostate brand often blends tradition with innovation, and The Feathered Serpent continues this theme.

**Style:**
The Feathered Serpent is typically found in a medium to full-bodied format, aligning well with smokers who appreciate a robust smoking experience. The craftsmanship is evident in its even construction and visually appealing wrapper, which often catches the eye of both seasoned cigar enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

**Flavor Profile:**
- **Initial Notes:** Upon lighting, expect a burst of rich cocoa intermingled with notes of espresso, setting a deep, flavorful foundation.
- **Mid-Smoke Complexity:** As the cigar progresses, the flavors evolve with the addition of leather and a subtle earthiness. There is often a hint of dark fruit sweetness, providing a nuanced balance to the overall profile.
- **Finish:** The final third tends to intensify, bringing forth more pronounced spice, often described as black pepper or nutmeg, which leaves a lasting impression on the palate.

**Notable Characteristics:**
- **Draw and Burn:** Consistently praised for its smooth draw and even burn, The Feathered Serpent ensures a pleasant smoking experience from start to finish. It’s meticulously constructed to avoid common issues like uneven burning or tight draws.
- **Aroma:** The aromatic profile is equally compelling, with a scent that complements its flavors — sweet, spicy, and slightly woody.
- **Wrapper:** Typically wrapped in a dark, oily leaf that contributes to both the aesthetic and the flavor intensity. The wrapper’s quality plays a crucial role in the overall tasting experience.

**What You Need to Know:**
- **Pairing Suggestions:** Pair with a high-quality rum or a bold red wine to complement the cigar’s complexity. A strong coffee can also enhance the espresso and cocoa notes.
- **Considerations:** Given its medium to full strength, it's ideal for smokers who have some experience and are looking to explore richly flavored cigars. Novices might find its complexity overwhelming at first, but it’s a rewarding experience for those looking to delve deeper into the world of premium cigars.
