Caramelized Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza

Ingredients
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
- Fresh arugula leaves
- Balsamic glaze (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, allow it to heat in the oven.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the pear slices and brown sugar. Cook until pears are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Brush the dough with olive oil. Evenly distribute the caramelized pears on top.
- Sprinkle the gorgonzola cheese and walnuts over the pears.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven. Top with fresh arugula leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze, if using. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
