Soft Burger Buns

Ingredients

Instructions

1. Add 240g warm milk, 60g warm water, 35g sugar, and 7g instant yeast to a large bowl
2. Let mixture sit for 5–10 minutes until slightly foamy
3. Add 1 egg
4. Add 500g bread flour and 10g salt
5. Mix until shaggy dough forms
6. Knead dough for 5 minutes
7. Add 45g softened butter
8. Continue kneading for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic
9. Place dough in lightly greased bowl and cover
10. Let dough rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size
11. Divide dough into 8 equal portions
12. Shape portions into smooth balls
13. Flatten each ball slightly into burger bun shape
14. Place buns on parchment-lined baking tray
15. Cover loosely and let rise 45–60 minutes
16. Preheat oven to 375°F
17. Brush tops with egg wash
18. Optional: sprinkle sesame seeds on top
19. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown
20. Let buns cool before slicing
