Instructions

1. Add 300g warm water (38–40°C) and 10g sugar to mixer bowl
2. Add 7g active dry yeast and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy
3. Add 500g all-purpose flour and 10g salt to the bowl
4. Add 30g softened butter (or 25g oil)
5. Mix on low speed for 1–2 minutes until combined
6. Knead on medium speed for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic
7. Cover and let dough rise for 60–90 minutes until doubled in size
8. Flatten dough gently and shape into a tight log
9. Place dough seam-side down into a greased loaf pan
10. Let dough rise for 30–45 minutes until it domes slightly above the pan
11. Bake at 190°C for 25–30 minutes until golden brown
12. Remove from pan and cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing
