Pickled Onions

Instructions

1. Thinly slice 1 large red onion
2. Pack sliced onion into a heat-safe jar or bowl
3. Measure 1 cup vinegar
4. Measure 1 cup water
5. Measure 1 tablespoon sugar
6. Measure 1.5 teaspoons salt
7. Combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt in a small pot
8. Heat liquid mixture until sugar and salt are fully dissolved
9. Pour hot pickling liquid over onions until fully submerged
10. Let onions cool for 15 minutes
11. Cover container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using
