Map Explorer Shows You the Places You Haven’t Explored Yet
New iPhone and Android app turns walks and drives into a private, personal map of explored routes and saved discoveries

SEATTLE, Wash., Oct. 6, 2026 — Cygnus X Enterprises LLC today announced that Map Explorer is available for iPhone and Android. The app records the routes users choose to track and builds a personal map of the areas they have explored, making it easy to see familiar ground and choose a new direction for the next walk, drive, or outing.
Users can start and stop route tracking whenever they choose. As they move, Map Explorer adds the route to their exploration map and records useful statistics, including explored area and completed walks. The result is a growing visual record of where they have actually been—not simply another map showing roads and destinations.
Map Explorer also lets users bookmark places they want to remember or revisit. A saved place can include a name, category, visited status, and an attached photo or video. Quick-add presets make it practical to mark parks, stores, libraries, scenic views, and other discoveries while on the move.
The app is designed around local ownership of personal map data. Routes, bookmarks, media, and settings remain on the user’s device unless the user chooses to export them. Map Explorer does not upload personal map data to Cygnus X. Users can create a local backup and import it again when needed.
