How to use it

Find what you need in a few keystrokes.

  1. Press / to open the search box.

  2. Type part of a link or button’s text. Matches are outlined in orange; the currently selected match is red.

  3. Press / again to cycle through matches.

  4. Press Enter to open the selected link or activate the button.

  5. Press Ctrl+Enter (or Command+Enter on Mac) to open a selected link in a background tab, or Shift+Enter to open it in a separate window.

  6. Use Backspace to correct the search. Press Escape to cancel. If the search began while typing in a field, Escape returns to that field and inserts /.

Designed for real webpages

Find more, with less searching.

Keyboard Link Navigation can find links in embedded page frames and open shadow-root components. When more than one result matches, visible matches are prioritized so the most useful choice is usually first.

Search stays on your device.

The extension reads page link and button text locally to perform the search. It does not send that text, your browsing history, or analytics to a server. Its access to webpages is needed for keyboard navigation. Read the Privacy Policy.

FAQ

A few useful details.

How do I type / in a text field?

Start the extension search with /. If you decide to keep typing in the field instead, press Escape. Focus returns to that field and the / is inserted for you.

What do the color outlines mean?

Orange outlines show every matching link or button. The red outline shows the selected match - the one that opens or activates when you press Enter.

Why does it not work on every page?

Browsers protect internal pages and some other restricted pages from extensions. Keyboard Link Navigation may not be available there.
